The Law Offices of Alan Ellis has expanded its national footprint with new offices in New York City and Boston, coinciding with the addition of two highly distinguished attorneys: Deborah J. Blum and Ian Gold.
Deborah Blum joins the firm in our New York City office. Recognized for her exceptional track record, Deborah is known for her ability to navigate high-stakes, adverse situations and guide clients through matters with life-altering consequences. A seasoned litigator with almost twenty years of experience, she has conducted nearly one hundred trials—both bench and jury—prevailing in the vast majority.
Her cross-disciplinary practice spans criminal defense, including white- and blue-collar criminal and post-conviction matters, and complex civil matters and litigation. Deborah is also a frequent legal commentator, appearing on ABC’s Good Morning America, BBC, CNN/HLN, Fox Business, Fox News and Sky News, and previously serving as a go-to commentator for Neil Cavuto and Megyn Kelly.
Ian Gold joins the firm in our Boston office. With more than two decades of experience, Ian began his career in New York City focusing on criminal defense and civil rights matters in federal court. After relocating to Massachusetts, he served as a trial attorney for the state’s public defender agency before becoming an Assistant Federal Public Defender in Boston, where he represented more than 200 defendants charged with felony crimes at both the trial and appellate levels.
Ian has lectured extensively on civil commitment defense, trained public defender groups nationwide, and served as an expert witness on the Adam Walsh Act—including testimony in the United Kingdom. He currently represents individuals committed as sexually dangerous in the federal system by special appointment in the Eastern District of North Carolina.
We look forward to continuing to serve clients with expanded capabilities and an even stronger presence on the East Coast.
