Deborah J. Blum is Of Counsel to The Law Offices of Alan Ellis in its New York office. Deborah is a standout New York-based litigation attorney with nearly two decades of experience in guiding clients through high-stakes matters with life-altering consequences. Her noteworthy caseload includes representing Keith Raniere as his lead post-conviction attorney in his efforts to overturn his wrongful conviction. In addition to having nearly 100 trials to her name, both criminal and civil, with a high rate of success, she has helped clients avoid criminal prosecution and obtain dismissals and compassionate release, precedent-setting rulings, and below-the-radar resolutions for prominent public figures and artists.

Deborah is a highly sought-after legal commentator – currently a frequent guest on UK networks (BBC, GB News, LBC Radio, Sky News, TalkTV & Radio) and previously on ABC’s Good Morning America, CNN/HLN, Fox Business and Fox News. She has covered major moments such as the Harvey Weinstein trial as a legal analyst for Court TV and was a go-to commentator for Neil Cavuto and Megyn Kelly. Deborah worked as a news anchor and reporter for ILTV and hosted a weekly segment with Professor Alan Dershowitz.

Deborah is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and received her Juris Doctor from Yeshiva University’s Cardozo School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. After law school, she worked as a public defender at the Nassau County Legal Aid Society and then as an associate for a prominent boutique criminal defense firm, handling all aspects of state and federal criminal charges and appeals. She is a fierce advocate and dedicates a portion of her practice to pro bono services for The Lawfare Project in an effort to combat antisemitism.
